Adventure! That’s the name of the game. And the name of today’s challenge, in which we were just supposed to go out and have fun doing whatever we wanted to do. Which is pretty much what I do everyday anyways. If you’re going to live in San Diego near the beach and NOT go there at least occasionally, then you’re doing it wrong. Just sayin.
Especially yesterday, it was such a g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s day in San Diego, and I decided to take the little man with me on a walk down to the beach from our house. This was a little exercise in understanding what every single day of my life is going to be like once we are living our lifestyle by design. Remember, Freedom is the goal!
So after watching the Chargers play a decent game and then look like they were going to give it away faster than a Catholic School Girl at her senior prom, I decided to
AVOID DRIVING BECAUSE OF THE HUGE AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC DUE TO MOTORBOAT RACES ON MISSION BAY get some exercise.
Little Mac decided to toss his hat out of his stroller, leaving me with two adult-size trucker hats with equally inappropriate logos for a 9 month old. CHOICES!
Finally my internal magnet led us straight to OB Noodlehouse, a place you absolutely MUST go to when you visit San Diego. If you don’t, then you should be ashamed of yourselves and never find yourself around these parts again! I’m not kidding.
They have the most awesome pho and happy hour specials out the wazoo. Plus Stone (Delicious), Ballast Point, Modern Times, and a few other local craft breweries are on heavy rotation.
We stopped along the half mile-long OB Pier to take some pictures (#duh) and watch the freak shows on the grassy knoll below. On a typical day,you can see hobos, people who left home and will be asking for a key to their moms’s place again once it gets colder, acroyoga, tight-rope walkers, and a family of mimes! It’s like a human zoo!
Then we walked back home, watched episodes of Caribbean Life on HGTV and yelled at our neighbor’s dog to shut the hell up. Pretty typical Sunday evening around here!
What’s your adventure? If you had to choose what you would do on your perfect Sunday (or vacation everyday), what would it be? Leave a comment if you’re feeling generous!
